Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was involved in a plot to damage her name by "leaking her personal photos." Maliwal, who has accused personal secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, of assault, claimed in a post on X that AAP leaders are under intense pressure to disparage her.
One of the party's senior leaders said to Swati that everyone is under a great deal of pressure to speak negatively about her and to shatter her by disclosing her private images. There are speculations that anyone who backs her will be kicked out of the party.
Maliwal said, "Someone has been assigned the task of performing PC, while someone else has been assigned the task of tweeting". She added that party members had been given several assignments to discredit her, including luring volunteers in America to obtain evidence against her and setting up fictitious sting operations using beat reporters who knew the accused well. Maliwal claimed that a Delhi-based woman minister was defaming her without naming anyone.
"I don't feel upset with them; the man who is accused is really strong. He even has the greatest leaders frightened. Nobody can have the guts to oppose him. I have no expectations at all from anyone. I find it regrettable that the Delhi lady minister is disparaging the reputation of an elderly female party colleague with a smile," the woman remarked. "I've begun a battle for my dignity and will not give up until I receive justice. Even though I am fighting this battle alone, I won't give up," she continued.
Bibhav Kumar, who was detained in Mumbai for the purpose of recovering data from his iPhone, has been returned to Delhi by the Delhi Police. Regarding the purported attack on Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister's house, Kumar is presently being held by the police for five days. His laptop, phones, and the CCTV footage from Kejriwal's home have all been forwarded for forensic analysis.
